Assigned Research Time

Application Deadline: 2008 deadline has passed. The next deadline is anticipated to be in Spring 2012. This program will be offered every three years beginning in Spring 2012.

Guidelines for previous award cycle: The Graduate School will award up to two units of assigned time for research (up to two courses). Requests for assigned time can be made for Fall 2008 and/or Spring 2009 semesters. 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

All applications must include the following:

1. Assigned Research Time Cover Form (Required)
2. Seven-Page Proposal Narrative  (Required)
   Your narrative should describe the background and significance of the project, the goals and specific objectives of the project undertaken during the requested research time, the procedures, methods, and anticipated outcomes.
3. Timetable (Required)
   Please include a one-page timetable for the project, from the desired beginning date to the anticipated date of completion.
4. Curriculum Vitae (Required)
   A current copy of your CV (three page maximum) that highlights your accomplishments in research and creative activities (research articles, books, awarded external grants, exhibitions or performances, etc.)

All proposals must be submitted to the College or School Dean by 4:30 PM on Monday, April 7. The proposals and Deans' evaluations must be received in the Graduate School by 4:30 PM on Monday, April 14.

Proposals will be reviewed by a faculty committee appointed by the Graduate School.

AS A CONDITION OF THE AWARD, ALL SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT AN EXTERNAL GRANT PROPOSAL BY AUGUST 15, 2009.
