Need for Private Support

The Graduate School must be able to offer programming that stretches minds and stimulates student and faculty intellectual curiosity. The campus presence of intellectual pioneers who interact with faculty, students and the community will substantially advance creative and scholarly pursuit. The state does not fund visiting University scholars, and federal funding for research in general has become increasingly competitive. Programming of this kind is the lifeblood of excellent graduate education, and only private support can make it possible.
