The Need for Private Support- STEM
The Center for STEM Research, Education and Outreach needs the support of private gifts from alumni, friends, citizens and corporate partners to achieve its goal of providing centralized leadership in STEM research, education and outreach on campus and in the surrounding region. Several initiatives are being developed that will be catalysts in achieving this goal.
These initiatives include creating an innovative state-of-the-art STEM education classroom, enhancing the STEM Resource Center which provides critically-needed classroom materials and curricula to SIUE education students and local area teachers, creating faculty and postdoctoral positions for research and program evaluation, and enhancing STEM outreach programs for K-12 students. As these plans are set into motion, the Center will become a focal point for STEM students, educators and researchers.
