MEMBERS PRESENT: Marcus Agustin, Jen Gapin, Andrea Hester, Kristine Hildebrandt, Poonam Jain, Susan Morgan for Jerry Weinberg, Joe Schober (Chair), Doug Simms
Susan Morgan stated that, starting in Summer 2013, information and announcements by the Office of Research and Projects will be communicated through the "SIUE Researcher" instead of the university list serve.
II. Minutes of January 9, 2013
The minutes were approved with typo correction.
III. Admissions Policy (1E1)
Changes were made to the policy beginning under heading "Graduate Students" to address comments from the Provost's office. A major change to the policy was the incorporation of a section with the heading "Professional Programs," which included updates to the School of Dental Medicine requirements and incorporation of admissions requirements for the School of Pharmacy. The ERP committee recommended changing "For PharmD students who are admitted to those professional programs at SIUE and are seeking admission to the MBA program at SIUE, equivalent credentials are considered completion of at least 112 semester hours." to "For PharmD students at SIUE seeking admission to the MBA program, equivalent credentials are considered completion of at least 112 semester hours."
Joe Schober made a motion to accept the changes; Poonam Jain seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
IV. Export Control Policy
Susan Morgan provided some background information for the committee. Changes were made to the draft approved by the Graduate Council April 2, 2012. These changes included limiting the scope of the policy to scholarship activities within the Graduate School.
Kristine Hildebrandt made a motion to accept the changes; Jen Gapin seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
V. Continuing Business
A. Doctoral Policies Subcommittee
Poonam Jain announced the subcommittee is finalizing recommendations.
