What to Do

Welcome to The Gardens at SIUE, the public botanical garden on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Recognized by the Missouri Botanical Garden as a Signature Garden, our 35-acre property includes a variety of natural areas, gardens and sculpture in a landscaped setting.

We hope you enjoy exploring The Gardens online. When you have the opportunity, please come for a visit. Our gardens are in a constant state of change. With seasonal variations, new installations, classes and special events, there is always something to see at The Gardens at SIUE!

Trails
Our half-mile paved loop is a great way to experience The Gardens. The loop path and Turtle Pond Bridge are ADA accessible. The Shade Stroll path, a mulched path, takes visitors through the woodland area to explore understory plantings and the Council Ring.

Feel free to explore off the paths, but keep an eye out for plants such as poison ivy and wild rose that may leave their mark.

We ask that you not pick the flowers or make collections of any kind. Explore and enjoy the grounds, but please leave what you find.

Pets
Dogs are welcome to visit The Gardens, but please keep them on a leash. We also ask that you pick up after your pet.
