The Dûvõ Folk Music Band is one of Hungary's most exciting folk music ensembles, presenting authentic traditional folk music from Transylvania, Hungary, and Slovakia.  The members of Dûvõ have dedicated their lives to studying Hungarian folk music from great masters from remote villages where the authentic forms of folk music could still be heard.  They are highly enthusiastic, and sometimes full of mischief.  Each member plays several instruments, and their performances are always fun.  The members of Dûvõ are Dénes Hrúz (violin, bagpipe), Szabolcs Hrúz (violin, viola, koboz), Ferenc Andrássy (cimbalom), István Nagy (bass, furulya), and Gergely Tóth (kontra, violin).

Dûvõ has toured many European and Scandinavian countries, and is the regular band for one of the longest-running and best Hungarian folk-dance camps in the United States, "Ti Ti Tábor".  They are excellent performers, teachers, and folk musicians of the highest professional caliber.  In 1983 they received the "Excellent Ensemble" award, and in 1993 the "Young Master of Folk Art" award.

For more information please call Rex or Nancy at 314-275-8228.  See also the Dûvõ web site at www.duvo.nograd.net.  The Dûvõ tour is sponsored by the Hungarian Cultural Center of New York and coordinated by the American Hungarian Folklore Centrum.
