To help cover the costs of education of dependent students, SIUE is offering Federal PLUS Loans through various lenders. Parents can receive up to the cost of education less financial aid received. Eligibility for this loan depends on creditworthiness of the dependent student's parent. PLUS Loans have a fixed interest rate and repayment begins 60 days after disbursement. First time borrowers need to complete and submit an electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN). Continuing PLUS borrowers may also need to complete a new MPN.
SIUE has a list of commonly used lenders for you to consider. These lenders were chosen for their good service to our students and their great repayment benefits. We will, however, process any loan application from any lender the student chooses; students and parents are ALWAYS allowed to choose their own lender.

All loans require at least half-time enrollment (5 hours for graduate students, 6 hours for undergraduate students) in ALL terms: Fall, Spring, AND Summer. This enrollment requirement must be maintained through the end of the 100% refund period for each term.
