As a diverse residential community, SIUE houses more than 3,500 students on campus. Our friendly, safe and modern residence halls are just the right place to begin your college experience. Residence hall living is the best way to become involved in campus activities, find support and meet lifelong friends.
First-Year Living Options
All freshmen live in suite-style units in one of three residence halls: Bluff Hall, Prairie Hall or Woodland Hall. You will share a room with one other student. Four people share a bathroom. Deluxe private bedrooms may be requested and are available on a limited basis. You can choose a general room assignment or participate in one of our Focused Interest Communities (FIC), a unique opportunity to live with and near students who have similar areas of interest or study.
No matter where you choose to live, you can connect with friends over a meal at Center Court or a snack at the Skywalk Cafe. Dining options range from paninis and salad bar to a hot, classic entree area and pasta bar. In addition, students enjoy Chick-Fil-A Express®, Freshens Smoothies, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels®, Kaldi’s Coffee and Starbucks®.
