| How does SIUE support your professional growth or activity as a Teacher-Scholar? "I currently hold a Collaborative Service Agreement with Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL, to provide consultation in research and evidence-based practice. This role entails a blend of research, teaching, and service to hospital professionals, with the goals of increasing research capacity and achieving Magnet Recognition, a national accreditation initiative for quality health care. Since July of 2006, Memorial's research competence has unfolded through initiating a Research Council, research and evidence-based practice projects, a Research Website, a Research Day Conference, and receiving a Magnet Recognition evaluation visit in January of 2008. The collaboration with Memorial has provided a unique perspective on professional service within the context of a local health care system."
