How does SIUE support your professional growth or activity as a Teacher-Scholar?
"SIUE School of Pharmacy supports excellence in education and research with technology infrastructure, committed time for research, support for student research assistants, and faculty development opportunities."

What is a unique aspect of your professional life that enhances your service to the academic or greater community?
"As a registered pharmacist I know the importance of a patient care focus in all aspects of pharmacy practice. My research on patient care practices in community pharmacy was initiated, in part, due to its direct educational applicability. My research focus on potential treatments for cystic fibrosis was strongly influenced by the unmet medical needs I observed while practicing pharmacy."

How has one mentor or event shaped your career decision to become a university professor?
"My pharmaceutics professor at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, the late Dr. Joe Haberle, introduced me to lab research and encouraged me to consider graduate school.  My desire to pursue an academic career developed as I observed the professors’ freedom to pursue their research interests."
