How does SIUE support your professional growth or activity as a Teacher-Scholar?
"SIUE supports my professional activities by providing travel support, freedom to choose  research topics to pursue, and providing research facilities. It is a really nice environment for me to pursue my long term research goal."

What is a unique aspect of your professional life that enhances your service to the academic or greater community?
"I was fortunate to have the opportunity to serve the research community in the area of systems and control theory as an associate editor for the two premium technical journals: IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, and Automatica. I have also been active ly involved with organizing workshops and special issues in my specialty on time-delay systems."

Please share how one mentor or event shaped your career decision to become a university professor. 
"It is hard to point to one mentor or event. However, the academic atmosphere at Georgia Institute of Technology had a big impact on my decision to pursue an academic career."
