| How does SIUE support your professional growth or activity as a Teacher-Scholar? "Probably the single most important aspect is the degree to which my work and professional relationships cross disciplines and institutions. My research colleagues have been at St. Louis University in nursing, social work, public health, and medicine; at Washington University in medicine and epidemiology; and at the University of Missouri St. Louis in nursing. My focus on vulnerable populations in maternal child health has also led to involvement in projects that support community services to pregnant adolescents, abused children, pregnant undocumented immigrants, homeless mothers and children as well as efforts to prevent and treat substance use among pregnant women."
