Welcome

Welcome to the Office of Faculty Development and Diversity web site.  At SIUE, the Office Faculty Development and Diversity is responsible for the following:

  • The development, implementation, and management of a University-wide Faculty Diversity Program, including elements of cultural and social diversity, civility, ethics, and collective responsibility.
  • In coordination with academic units, the Faculty Recruitment and Retention Program, including specific diversity initiatives to recruit and retain underrepresented groups.
  • Faculty development programs, including New Faculty Orientation, promotion and tenure workshops, the sabbatical program, and support for the Provost's evaluation of mid-tenure review, tenure, and promotion.
  • Curriculum review, including new course applications and course revisions, which is done in conjunction with the Associate Provost for Academic Planning and Program Development.

Additionally, the Assistant Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity serves as the Provost’s liaison to the Faculty Senate Committees on Faculty Development, Faculty Welfare and the Curriculum Council.

It is our hope that this web site will answer most--if not all--of your questions.  Please explore this web site and review the many faculty development and diversity opportunities that are available to prospective, new, and senior-level faculty.  The site has also been designed to assist deans and other administrators with available resources.

If you have any questions, please contact:
