
This is part of the Fact Book Annex, providing data that is more detailed, is for different time periods or is not included at all in the Fact Book.The Comparative Cost Study compares each Illinois public university's instructional costs per credit hour for each academic discipline and level of intruction to the weighted average for all public universities. This analysis then accounts for differences in the mix of academic programs among institutions.The Comparative Instructional Staff Year Study was developed to provide information on the relationship between faculty effort and student credit hours by discipline, with comparative information. In concept, this study is parallel to the Comparative Cost Analysis. The same methodology is used for both studies, with the cost study focusing on the dollar costs of producing student credit hours and the staff year study focusing on the "effort" (as measured in staff years) involved in producing student credit hours.These documents are readable with an Adobe Acrobat reader which may be downloaded and used for free from the Adobe Web Site.
