The PALS/Latchkey Program is an after school child care program that provides a safe place for children between the ages of 6 through 12 while their parents are working, in school, or in an educational program.
The program was designed by Southern Illinois University East St. Louis Center, School District 189 and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and is funded through Illinois Department of Human Services. The program is staffed by certified teachers and is licensed by The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Program hours are 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during East St. Louis School District 189's academic school year. Children receive a nutritious snack and various field trips are offered throughout the year.
