Program Resources

Upward Bound Math & Science is a federally funded program in conjunction with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. There is no cost to participants.

What are the hours for Upward Bound Math & Science?

Upward Bound Math & Science Program hours of operation during the academic year are the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Summer component is residential. Students live in the dorm on the SIUE main campus from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon. Participants are home on weekends.

Participants in the Upward Bound Math & Science Program receive services in the following areas:

  • Instruction in Language Arts, mathematics, science and foreign languages
  • Computer and Science laboratory instruction
  • Personal counseling
  • Academic advisement and assistance
  • Tutorial services
  • Participation in cultural events and special academic programs
  • Activities designed to explore a wide range of career opportunities
  • Special instruction to prepare participants for mathematics, science and health related careers
  • A six week residential summer program offering academic workshops and activities
  • Free meals and lodging
  • Free transportation
  • Stipends and awards
