The SIUE East St. Louis Charter School is funded by the state of Illinois. Thedistrict receives the per capita funds that are allocated for eachstudent and the funds are released to SIUE from the local schooldistrict. The school is awarded at the rate of 75% from the districtof the 100% received from the state. SIUE provides supplemental supportto the school in order to meet the cost of running the charter school.Additional program grants have been secured to support the foreignlanguage program, the obesity program and to operate the schoolnewspaper.
