The SIUE East St. Louis Charter School is funded by the State of Illinois. The district receives the per capita funds that are allocated for each student and the funds are released to SIUE from the local school district. The school is awarded at the rate of 75% from the district of the 100% received from the state. SIUE provides supplemental support to the school in order to meet the cost of running the Charter School. Additional program grants have been secured to support the foreign language program, the obesity program and to operate the school newspaper.
