Employement Training Grants

The Water Quality Control Operations program is eligible for federal funding for qualified students who are displaced, unemployed, underemployed, veterans or economically disadvantaged. Funding sources include the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and Dislocated Worker Programs. Most federal funding programs may be utilized for up to two years.

To determine eligibility, students should contact their county Employment and Training Department.

ERTC Alumni Scholarship

The ERTC Alumni Scholarship was established to provide support for students in the Environmental Resources Training Center (ERTC). 

IWEA Sylvanus Jackson Memorial Scholarship in ERTC Endowment

The IWEA Sylvanus Jackson Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Sylvanus Jackson, former Superintendent at the Rock Island, Illinois Sewage Treatment Plant. Recipients must be accepted in the Environmental Resources Training Center (ERTC); be in good academic standing; maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0; be working, or plan to work in the management and operation of a water treatment plant or a wastewater treatment plant in Illinois.

Patrick Curry Scholarship Endowment

The Patrick Curry Scholarship was established in the School of Engineering in memory of Patrick Curry. This scholarship provides support for students in the Environmental Resources Training Center (ERTC). 

Urbana and Champaign ERTC Scholarship

The Urbana and Champaign ERTC Scholarship was established to provide internship funding for students in the Environmental Resources Training Center at SIUE.
