For 11 straight years, spanning 22 consecutive semesters, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville student-athletes have finished with a departmental grade point average of better than 3.0. They completed the 2017 spring semester with a 3.281 GPA, marking the second-highest semester GPA in school history.

SIUE School of Engineering alumnus Charles Phillip Bruner earned the 2016 Weems Award from the Institute of Navigation.The Institute of Navigation (ION) has presented SIUE School of Engineering (SOE) alumnus Charles Phillip Bruner with the esteemed Captain P.V.H. Weems Award for his contributions to the art and science of navigation.

A special visitor to the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Head Start/Early Head Start program at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center in East St. Louis generated smiles and engaged children in scientific interaction.

SIUE Spring Enrollment is Second-Highest All-Time

Class of 2020Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s spring enrollment of 13,276 students is the second-largest spring enrollment in the University’s history. Traditional undergraduate enrollment has reached an all-time spring semester high of 11,022 students. Overall university enrollment declined by only 70 students (0.52 percent) from last spring’s record total of 13,346.
