Green Parking Permits from the School of Engineering

About the Green Parking Permits

Every year, Parking Services gives the School of Engineering the ability to grant declared undergraduate engineering students (who are not normally eligible for a green parking permit) the opportunity to receive one. Sometime in April, the School of Engineering is given rights to a certain number of passes for the upcoming academic year. Notices of upcoming availability are posted around the School of Engineering, on the school website, and sent to students' siue.edu email addresses at least a week before the request list becomes available.

These permits are for the next academic year and are not for sale until the first week of July. The School of Engineering is only responsible for the request and acceptance lists of students. The actual permit will be available for purchase online from the Parking Services website.

A certain number of permits are reserved for student organizations and department student workers, after that, the remaining permits are first-come, first-served.

About the Lot E Permits

Green permits allow a driver to park in both lots A and E.  Parking Services sometimes offers passes specifically for Lot E, and they are generous enough to let the School of Engineering have the first chance to distribute them.  There is no set number of these passes, and notification of distribution is posted online.  Students on the list who were not able to get a green pass are given the opportunity to purchase these by their position on the list.
