Building a Better World, One Community at a Time.

EWB-USA SIUE is the student chapter of the professional organization Engineers Without Borders. We founded in the Fall of 2008, we are one of over 180 student chapters nationwide. We complete basic infrastructure projects to help underdeveloped and impoverished communities around the world.

EWB-USA SIUE partners with impoverished communities locally and internationally to find their basic needs. With their cooperation and with help from professional organizations, we design and build environmentally sustainable, equitable, and economic infrastructure projects to fulfill basic human needs.

On campus, EWB-USA SIUE is a diverse group of students with service learning opportunities for every major on campus. We design projects with help from all disciplines in engineering, market our projects with students from the School of Business, development outreach programs undergraduates majoring in Education, and learn about International culture with students from the College of Arts and Sciences. We design projects, raise funds, inform the public, and learn about the world with undergraduates, graduate students, and Ph.D. candidates from all across campus.

Connect with EWB-USA SIUE on Facebook and on Twitter.

EWB-USA

Engineers Without Borders - USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students. EWB-USA currently has over 180 student and professional chapters working on over 170 projects in 41 countries.

The activities of EWB-USA range from the construction of sustainable systems that developing communities can own and operate without external assistance, to empowering such communities by enhancing local, technical, managerial, and entrepreneurial skills. These projects are initiated by, and completed with, contributions from the host community working with our project teams.
