The Very Large Scale Integrated Design Laboratory (VLSI Lab) is a state-of-the-art facility which has 14 workstations, including SUN SPARCstations.

A major research tool of the VLSI Lab is provided by MENTOR GRAPHICS, it is a program that offers the experienced and new user alike the opportunity to experiment with CAD design in an easy-to-use GUI-based environment. Active research contributes to the excellence of Mentor tools program, which is under continuing development at SIUE.

Research and development in the VLSI Lab:
 • Mentor Graphics Tools Development
 • Magnetic Fingerpriting
 • Digital Hearing Aid
 • Audiometric Testing

Research funded by Funded University Research(FUR),Washington University St.Louis,Missouri

Courses in VLSI at SIUE:
