Office Support Associate

Job Description/Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Assistant Director for Employer Relations.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates the on campus interview scheduling
  • Coordinates six career fairs annually
  • Database updating
  • Backing up other support staff
  • Typing letters, memos and reports

The Office Support Associate position may be assigned additional related duties and responsibilities in support of the department’s mission and goals.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school graduation or equivalent; and

2. Any one or combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the following categories:

  1. work experience performing routine clerical/office support work, including use of computer systems
  2. vocational training that provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical procedures
  3. college or university course work in Office Occupations, Business Administration, Business Education, or closely related fields  
    30 semester hours = eighteen (18) months
  4. college or university course work in any curriculum
    48 semester hours = eighteen (18) months; and

3. Ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 40 w.p.m.

Personal Attributes Needed to Undertake Job

  1. Pleasant telephone voice, ability to relate and communicate effectively with individuals from all types of backgrounds.
  2. Administrative skills including typing, organizational skills, and ability to perform with minimum supervision.
  3. Knowledge of University structure and operation in order to obtain and disseminate information: University forms for various requests and reports; and University curriculums.
  4. Internal and external correspondence and cash handling/credit card processing experience.
  5. Familiarity with all Microsoft Office applications and prior database work preferred.
