Staff Assistant – Research Administrator

Job Description
The Staff Assistant – Research Administrator is responsible for providing pre-award support to faculty and staff, especially those who submit biomedical and biobehavioral proposal submissions to external agencies. The primary responsibilities are:

  • Identifying funding opportunities
  • Forming collaborative proposal teams
  • Assisting with budgeting development
  • Writing template language on general grant sections (such as Facilities and Other Resources)
  • Providing education and outreach to faculty and staff
  • Facilitating internal funding programs
  • Keeping systems for data tracking and reporting up-to-date
  • Preparing reports on internal and external submissions and funding

The Staff Assistant – Research Administrator may be assigned other related tasks in support of the department’s mission and goals.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred
  • The ability to work with administrators, faculty, and staff is required
  • Research administrative experience is preferred
  • Expertise in proposal development for federal Public Health Service (PHS) agencies is preferred
  • Experience with compliance issues, particularly for PHS agencies, is preferred

Terms of Appointment
Professional staff, full-time, bargaining, twelve month continuing appointment.

Salary Range
$35,946 to $40,000 per year. Excellent benefits package included.
