Director, Graduate Education
The Graduate School
The Director, Graduate Education administers the various programs and services for graduate students, coordinates the graduate program assessment and review programs with the Office of Assessment, reviews graduate student retention plans, responds to current graduate student questions, problems and requests for exceptions, responds to graduate applicants’ requests for exception, responds to graduate program directors’ questions and requests for exceptions, manages the internal graduate scholarship and award programs, communicates with current graduate students and graduate program directors, designs and updates of the online graduate catalog and graduate programs website. With the university initiative of increasing interdisciplinary programs, this position identifies, coordinates, and supports the development of new programs, and provides the Graduate School administration of these programs. With the planned increase in graduate student enrollment, this position identifies and administers new academic support services for graduate students. This position supervises the Graduate School Chief Clerk and the Coordinator of Graduate Student Retention and Services
A bachelor’s degree with four years of responsible experience in higher education. Experience with graduate student related activities preferred. Master’s degree preferred. The preferred candidate would possess a master’s degree in College Student Personnel or a closely related degree. The individual will be expected to keep current on practices and network through membership in professional organizations.
Terms of Appointment
Administrative, non-bargaining, 100%, 12-month continuing.
