TITLE/RANK: ADJUNCT LECTURER
HIRING UNIT: ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES TRAINING CENTER (ERTC)
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Teach ERTC's on-campus or off-campus, non-credit evening courses or workshops in water supply and wastewater treatment facility operations, maintenance, management, laboratory procedures or cross-connection control. Individual appointments will be made to teach on a course -by-course basis with the best person(s) qualified being selected to teach courses in his/her specialty. Adjunct Lecturer may also be utilized and participate in special projects. All qualified applicants will constitute a pool from which appointments will be made on an as-needed basis.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Certification as an Illinois Class I Wastewater Treatment Operator or Class A Water Supply Operator. For Cross Connection Control training, instructor or special project staff need an AAS degree or the equivalent in training and experience. Demonstrated desire and ability to teach occupational skills courses are essential. Teaching experience in community college or similar program or equivalent documented experience teaching OJT programs is preferred.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Course-by-course or project-by project basis; non-bargaining; term appointment.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with credentials and experience.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: Applications must be received at least 30 days prior to start of the semester to be considered for appointment to teach evening courses and at least 30 days prior to the scheduled dates for workshops and seminars and initiation of special projects. Course schedules are available from the Environment Resources Training Center.
