ITTA-Application & System Administrator II

Job Description/Responsibilities
The ITTA-Application & System Administrator II assists in the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of campus-wide systems. Examples include Kuali Coeus, Curriculum Management, ID-card, door access systems, vending, cashiering, document imaging/workflow, advising/retention (Starfish), Point of Sale and textbook rental, and mobile applications. Under general supervision, this position assesses the needs of users and assists in the selection, implementation, and modification of a system. S/he documents existing and needed work flows, and documents system configuration and changes. This position works with IT help desk and other IT personnel to troubleshoot incidents, and handles service tickets requesting changes.  The ITTA-Application & System Administrator II may be assigned additional tasks in support of the department’s mission and goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Any combination totaling two years from the following categories:
       a. Progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession.
       b. College course work in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely
           related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its
           proportional equivalent: 
             60 semester hours or associate degree = one year; 
             90-120 semester hours or a bachelor’s degree = two years;
  2. Additional qualifications required by hiring unit:
       a. Additional two years of progressive experience managing computers, or software
           packages in complex IT environment.
       b. Two years of experience (concurrent with other experience) with
           programming/scripting languages (examples include SQL, JavaScript,
           HTML/CSS, Perl, PowerShell, C#).
       c. Working knowledge of computer operating systems (UNIX/Linux, Windows,
           and MacOS) and peripherals in a networked environment.
       d. Ability to handle and resolve ticket-based requests and incidents without
           direction while continuing independent projects.

Illinois residency required

FLSA Status

$4,296 per month.
