Database Systems Programmer (IT Technical Associate)
School of Dental Medicine
This position will address the steadily increasing demand for database systems programming in order to meet the School of Dental Medicine needs for management functions and regulatory compliance. The primary function of this position will be to implement the design, programming, administration, security and maintenance of user interface and reporting funtions in the SDM clinical information, academic progress, and personnel management database systems. The secondary function of this position will be to serve as an assistant database administrator, providing DBA services as needed during periods of absence of the Director of DBA. These systems are MISSION CRITICAL and must be functioning at ALL times during the work week. If the system goes down, all patient care and clinical academic functions will stop until function is restored. If the system is offline for 1 day, up to 300 patient care visits will be canceled. This position will handle databases containing federally protected highly confidentional academic, patient health, and personal data. The Database Systems Programmer will perform other related tasks in support of the School’s mission and goals.
