University Services to East St. Louis Center
The purpose of this position is to administer the program operations of the Upward Bound Programs and manage the direct services to program participants. This position will collect data and information necessary to complete student files and prepare annual reports to SIUE, funding agencies, and other appropriate agencies. As the administrator, applicants must adhere to all program compliance mandates; ensure that program objectives are met and select qualified persons for employment. S/he will develop and supervise staff trainings and evaluations. As fiscal officer, this position will maintain all budgetary functions of the Upward Bound Programs. This position must comply with all Federal, State, Local and University policies and procedures. S/he must also adhere to the objectives of the program and operate programs in the best interest of students (participants).
Master’s degree required in Education, Social Work, Administration, or Supervision or related field. Three to five years’ experience that included financial management responsibilities preferred. Three to five years’ experience working with federally funded TRIO programs preferred. Experience in proposal writing and the securing of funds through grant applications preferred. Experience working in related education and/or other programs for youth from low-income/disadvantaged backgrounds preferred. Extensive knowledge and sensitivity toward problems of minority and disadvantaged students preferred.
Terms of Appointment
Full-time, non-bargaining term October 1, 2013 to August 31, 2014 with possibility of renewal.
