Position Title
Teaching Consultant – Computer Literacy (2 Part-time Positions)

Hiring Unit
Upward Bound EC (East St. Louis) (30% Appointment)
Upward Bound BEM (East St. Louis) (19% Appointment)

Job Description/Responsibilities
This position teaches courses to area high school students in Computer Literacy.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing instruction and tutorial services
  • Developing and implementing individualized Education Plans (IEP’S)
  • Preparing students in the subject area that they will be enrolled in during the academic year, with a focus on learning study skills which will help them succeed in classes
  • Motivating students towards college and to assist with building self-esteem and a sense of achievement

Minimum Qualifications
Teaching Consultants must obtain a bachelor’s degree with a major in the specified field (Computer Literacy) sufficient to qualify for a valid teaching certificate or a bachelor’s degree with an endorsement in the appropriate content area and a valid teaching certificate for middle and high school age children in the state of Illinois.

Starting Salary
$15.85 per hour
