Job Description/Responsibilities
The Department of Computer Science at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. It is anticipated that the appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, and will begin in August 2018. Responsibilities for this position include undergraduate and graduate instruction, research, and university and public service. Candidates for this position will be expected to be student-centered and should embrace the Teacher-Scholar model, demonstrate a commitment to promoting experiential learning, and advance computer science through research. Candidates are encouraged to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations.
As part of the SIUE School of Engineering, the department offers an ABET-accredited B.S. degree program as well as B.A. and M.S. Computer Science degree programs. The department has twelve full-time faculty members and more than 450 students. For more details, visit us at www.cs.siue.edu.

Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in computer science or related field is required. Persons who have not completed all degree requirements by the beginning of the contract period (ABD) may be considered for a one-year term appointment at the rank of instructor until the degree is completed. All applicants must have demonstrated teaching and mentoring excellence or potential at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants must demonstrate potential for developing a quality research program and for attracting research funds.
Terms of Appointment
Full-time, tenure-track appointment, academic term beginning in August of 2018.
