HIRING UNIT: SCHOOL OF DENTAL MEDICINE (ALTON)
TITLE/RANK: ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (depending on qualifications)
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Full-time tenure track faculty position available in Implant Dentistry. Responsibilities include didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical teaching in Implant Dentistry at the pre-doctoral level, with some teaching at advanced levels and service to the University. Independent research and scholarly activities are also expected. Working in collaboration with other faculty, both in research and in teaching, is encouraged. Excellence in teaching is integral to the mission of Southern Illinois University and the School of Dental Medicine.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A D.M.D./ D.D.S. or equivalent degree and graduate training in both Surgical and Restorative Implant Dentistry are required. Previous teaching experience and/or a record of research accomplishment through publication and external funding are desirable. Candidates holding an M.S. or Ph.D. degree are preferred. Applicants must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Illinois, or be able to meet the requirements for licensure in Illinois.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, continuing.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with credentials and experience.

School of Dental Medicine students manage approximately 35,000 patient visits each year at its patient clinics in Alton and East St. Louis.
