Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs
School of Dental Medicine
Reporting directly to the Dean, the Assistant Dean is responsible for effective operation of all School of Dental Medicine Clinics including management and oversight of clinical staff, patient intake and assignments, student rotation assignments, quality assurance processes, maintenance of supplies, instruments and equipment and compliance with regulatory requirements such as OSHA and HIPPA. In addition, the Assistant Dean is responsible for the development, evaluation, and modification of all aspects of the clinical programs, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean. Position to be filled September 1, 2013.
Qualifications include a DDS/DMD degree, an Illinois dental license or eligibility for such license, clinical teaching experience, and experience in ownership/management of a private practice or management of a major clinical operation with commensurate administrative experience. Advanced education and/or training in administration are desirable.
Terms of Appointment
Full-time, tenure or clinical track position.

School of Dental Medicine students manage approximately 35,000 patient visits each year at its patient clinics in Alton and East St. Louis. In addition, students offer oral health treatment, screenings and education to more than 10,000 people annually through a wide variety of off-campus community outreach events.
