Dental Hygienist

Job Description/Responsibilities
The individual in the position primarily is responsible for the clinical screening, oral examination, periodontal exam, sampling collection, treatments and recalls of the patients involved in the research project named: Biomarkers of Periodontal Disease Progression, funded by NIH/NIDCR (protocol #10-174E) 

Minimum Qualifications
1. Licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Illinois
2. Current CPR Certification 

Additional Knowledge and Skills Needed to Undertake Job
Applicants need an excellent knowledge of, and experience in dental hygiene and the four-handed dentistry concept of dental assisting.  S/he needs to possess the ability to organize, and perform multiple tasks independently, and be capable of effectively handling patients under stress as well as a high degree of verbal communication and interpersonal skills.  This individual must have excellent computer skills in order to work with the research management software, complete transactions enter treatment information into electronic patient charts, order and maintain the supply inventories and communications.  A high degree of manual dexterity (both gross and fine manipulation) is required for this role.
