Manger of Dental Computing Resources (IT Manager/Administrative Coordinator)

Job Description/Responsibilities
This position will assist the Director of Dental Computing Resources with responsibility for all School of Dental Medicine (SDM) computing resources at both campuses, including selection, purchase, configuration, deployment, maintenance, backup, and security of over 500 workstations, 30+ servers, and hundreds of peripherals such as printers, scanners, cameras, signature pads, swipe card readers, digital X-Ray sensors, etc. This includes software deployment and network security for a mission critical clinical information system (CIS) that contains all SDM patient information records, student academic records, and clinical administrative records. Responsibilities also include audio-visual services, video monitoring services, and other miscellaneous digital computing systems imperative to the educational, research, and service missions of the SDM.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Any combination totaling six years from the following categories:
a) progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession
b) college course work with a concentration in Information Technology (IT), IT Management,
or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its
proportional equivalent:
● 60 semester hours or Associate's Degree equals one year
● 90 semester hours equals two years
● 120 semester hours or Bachelor's Degree equals three years
(Note: Only a maximum of 3 years credit for college course work is available.)
2. Two (2) years of total work experience in a supervisory or lead worker capacity.
3. Additional education, training and/or experience required by the hiring department:
a) Bachelor's degree or greater
b) Two years experience in the configuration, deployment, security, and maintenance of
Windows file Server systems
c) Two years experience with Microsoft operating systems
d) Two years experience with programming and design
e) Two years experience with Microsoft Exchange

Experience with audio-visual technologies preferred

Illinois residency required
