Job Description/Responsibilities
The Department of Biological Sciences at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor, Genetics. The department is seeking applicants with training in genetics with a strong interest in population genetics, genomics or bioinformatics. The successful candidate will share responsibility for teaching genetics courses, will offer upper-division courses in his or her area of expertise, and may also participate in evolution and non-majors courses in biology. Candidates should exhibit potential for independent and innovative research involving Master’s and undergraduate students.

Terms of Appointment
Continuing academic year (nine month) appointment: tenure eligible.

Salary
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and credentials.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in the biological sciences or related field with demonstrated interest in genetics. Post-doctoral teaching and/or research experience preferred.
