Position Title
Assistant Professor of English, Composition and Rhetoric

Job Description/Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor of English is a tenure-track position in Composition and Rhetoric. Specialization open within Composition and Rhetorical Studies. The teaching assignment for the Assistant Professor of English will include courses in MA Teaching of Writing Program, undergraduate minor in Rhetoric and Writing, first-year writing sequence, and English major and general education curricula.

Terms of Appointment
Continuing tenure track academic year (nine month) appointment beginning August 16, 2018.

Commensurate with experience and credentials.

PhD in English or closely related field required. Persons who have not completed all degree requirements by the beginning of the contract period (ABD) may be considered for a one-year term appointment at the rank of instructor until the degree is completed. Demonstrated scholarly promise essential. Demonstrated interest in teaching technical/business writing and/or basic writing a plus.

Candidates who advance to the second round will be asked for a writing sample, statement of teaching philosophy, letters of recommendation and transcripts.
