Assistant Professor-Environmental Toxicology
Environmental Sciences Program, Department of Biological Sciences, College of Arts & Sciences
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses that support the Environmental Sciences Program (ENSC) and the Department of Biological Sciences (BIOL). Teaching assignments will include courses and laboratories at both undergraduate and graduate (MS) levels, including courses in introductory biology and environmental sciences, environmental toxicology, and courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. ENSC and BIOL seek applicants who will develop an active, independent research program in environmental toxicology. Preference will be given to applicants whose research would be synergistic with existing faculty and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations. The successful applicant will be expected to engage in scholarly work, involve students in research, seek external grants to support research, and produce scholarly publications. Service activities in support of ENSC, BIOL, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the University, are expected.
A Ph.D. degree is required; postdoctoral and teaching experience is desired.
Terms of Appointment
Full-time tenure- track, academic year (nine-month) appointment beginning August 16, 2014
