Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor in exceptional circumstances
Mathematics and Statistics, CAS
The duties will include teaching courses in mathematics or statistics and mathematics education, supervising student teachers, mentoring students through senior projects and master’s theses, performing research, and contributing to the department, college, and university through appropriate service activities including collaborating on state and national accreditation reports.
The applicant should have a Ph.D. in Math Education, Mathematics, or Statistics. For those with a Ph.D. in Math Education, we require a master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics. For those with a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics, candidates must have significant experience with teaching at the P-12 level or working with math content or math methods courses for preservice elementary or secondary teachers. ABDs very near completion will be considered (if Ph.D. is not completed at the beginning of the contract period a one-year term appointment will be made at the rank of Instructor).
Terms of Appointment
Full time, tenure track, academic year (nine-month) appointment beginning August 2014.
