Assistant Professor in Multimedia Production
The Department of Mass Communications
The Department of Mass Communications at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville seeks candidates for a tenure track position in Multimedia Production. Standard teaching load is three courses per semester. Additional opportunities exist to teach courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise in both the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
The successful candidate should possess an earned Ph.D. in mass communications, journalism, media arts, or a related field (ABD considered); relevant professional experience, evidence of potential to create a program of scholarly research and/or creative activities and to assist in curriculum development, as well as the ability to teach courses in multimedia production, visual storytelling, television studio and field production, advanced broadcast writing, media management and other related areas of broadcasting, such as motion graphics . Ability to teach additional courses such as social media, graphics and animation, and interactive design principles is a plus.
Terms of Appointment
Academic, tenure track, beginning August 16, 2014, 100%.
