Job Description/Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to provide clerical, administrative, and office coverage support to faculty and students in the social work department.  Primary functions include student records, full business hours office coverage in coordination with other support staff and faculty, as well as online communication and records via website, Share Point, Banner, and other storage media.  This position provides direct assistance to the BSW, MSW Field Practica Director and Chair.  This includes diverse duties such as taking meeting minutes, managing correspondence, admissions records for MSW program, and records related to field agencies and students. S/he provides phone and in-person information to students, prospective students and university personnel related to program admissions, student progress, field agency records, and online communication systems.  The Office Support Associate position may be assigned additional related duties and responsibilities in support of the department’s mission and goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school graduation or equivalent; and
  2. Any one or combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the following categories:
  • work experience performing routine clerical/office support work, including use of computer systems
  • vocational training that provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical procedures
  • college or university course work in Office Occupations, Business Administration, Business Education, or closely related fields  
    30 semester hours = eighteen (18) months
  • college or university course work in any curriculum
    48 semester hours = eighteen (18) months; and

   3.  Ability to keyboard accurately at a rate of 40 w.p.m.

$1,967 per month
