Assistant Coach

Job Description/Responsibilities
The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coaches and Director of Athletics, subscribes to the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics and support the goals and objectives of the athletics program.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the head coaches with organization of practices, recruitment, team travel, fund raising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the Head Coaches or Director of Athletics
  • Complies with University, Conference, and NCAA Division I rules and regulations
  • Working cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel
  • Supporting the student-athlete concept and demonstrates concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete
  • Additional duties as assigned

This position will provide support to the Women’s Basketball and Men’s and Women’s Track & Field programs as they are fully active in the Ohio Valley Conference. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Evidence of sound organizational skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues and the public
  • Varsity collegiate playing experience required
  • Previous coaching experience preferred

Terms of Appointment
Full-time, non-bargaining, term position (8/1/2013-6/30/2014) with possibility of renewal
