Account Technician I
The Account Technician I prepares and reviews financial and business documents related to the Athletic Department such as staff, team and recruiting travel, purchase requisitions, disbursements, transfer vouchers, P-card transactions, and deposits. S/he performs data entry and account reconciliation for Athletics’ University and Foundation accounts. This position verifies and examines financial transactions, account reconciliations, and business operations for accuracy and completion. S/he makes corrections and adjustments to financial transactions and business operations as needed. Athletics uses approximately 60 University and Foundation accounts and is a high volume-deadline driven financial operation. General office duties include: filing, making copies, organizing files, and departmental documentation. The Account Technician I works with coaches and staff to make sure they provide Financial Affairs with all required supporting documentation and information necessary for departmental business and financial operations.
1. Any one or any combination of the following types of preparation:
(a) work experience performing duties comparable to the next lower level of this series
(b) college course work in accounting
(c) college course work in any curriculum
that totals 1.0 unit according to the following conversion rates:
1 year of “a” = 1.0 unit
6 semester hours of “b” = 1.0 unit
60 semester hours of “c” = 1.0 unit.
Amounts of experience or training less than those listed above should be converted to decimal equivalents of 1.0 unit and added together when computing combinations of the different types of preparation.
