Director of Assessment
Office of Academic Innovation and Effectiveness
Reporting to the Assistant Provost for Academic Innovation and Effectiveness, the Director of Assessment will help develop and coordinate university assessment activities in collaboration with the Provost’s Office and Faculty Senate. Responsibilities will include coordinating all phases of program review, facilitating undergraduate and graduate assessment, serving as a member of Curriculum Council, the Committees on Assessment, and the General Education Committee, and working with the Assistant Provost to support Senior Assignment. The Director of Assessment will assist in the implementation of a comprehensive general education assessment plan.
To be considered, a candidate must be a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member at SIUE with a commitment to using data for continuous improvement and knowledge of best practices in assessment. Candidates must have strong organizational skills, communication skills, and a clear commitment to collaborative leadership. Knowledge and experience in research design and measurement, as related to assessment, is preferred.
Terms of Appointment
A three-year renewable appointment to begin in the spring 2014 semester.
Source of Funds
The position offers one three-hour course release and a stipend of $3,000 for each of the fall and spring semesters. The Office of the Provost will also provide an additional $3000, to support a course release or stipend. The use of the additional funds is negotiable.
