Admission Counselor (3 Positions)

Job Description/Responsibilities
The Admission Counselor will inform prospective students of educational opportunities available to them at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville by: advising and counseling prospective students and their families; interacting with counselors, faculty and administrators; making public presentations; representing the University at college day/night programs at high schools, colleges and college fairs; and assuming responsibility for and assisting with special projects.  Responsibilities of the position include off-campus travel, some irregular work hours, coordination with other campus units, and other duties related to providing admissions information to prospective students and others.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and recommend two years’ experience in a college or university setting in admissions, counseling, communication and/or public relations.  Excellent verbal, written communication and technical skills are essential.  Candidate must have good organization skills and the ability to communicate with individuals from varying backgrounds.

Terms of Appointment
Full-time, bargaining (3 Positions)

Source of Funds

$27,000 to $29,000 per year
