Job Description
This position will develop and analyze student information for federal (IPEDS) and state (IBHE) reporting, perform research studies in support of the University’s decision-making and support specialized research studies. Responsibilities include IPEDS Fall Enrollment, Graduation Rates, Completions, etc.; Teacher Data Warehouse and Teacher Certifications; data for the Fact Book and Overview of Academic Programs; 10th day and End-of-Term reporting; student retention studies and other analyses.

Qualifications Required
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in technical, business, or natural/social science field (e.g. Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics) for Researcher/Analyst and at least five years of experience in Institutional Research, planning or budgeting with a Master’s degree preferred for the Senior Researcher/Analyst. Demonstrated ability to independently conceive, design, and conduct research using numerical analytic techniques and prepare reports resulting from such investigations; experience with the use and manipulation of large-scale complex databases; must have familiarity with higher education and government reporting; significant knowledge of the Banner Student database and extract files and how to access and organize the stored data to disseminate information; ability to access information using multiple programming languages including SPSS, SAS, SQL; Extensive knowledge of SIUE mission, academic programs and organizational structure; ability to work in cooperation with others on common projects; excellent written and oral communication skills.

Professional Staff, non-bargaining, continuing, 12 months, 100%.
