Job Description/Responsibilities
This position serves as a liaison between the functions of the Director of Business Affairs and the Business Managers of the academic units.  S/he will manage the Budget Management System which is the financial tool used to track all the state accounts (over 300 accounts holding almost $100 million dollars) assigned to Academic Affairs.  This position provides guidance on budget policy and procedures to the unit Business Managers and assists them in their monthly reconciliation.  S/he coordinates with the business/Administrative Associate on the salary portion ($81 million dollars) of that Budget Management System.  They will manage daily operations of 13 accounts (totaling almost $11 million dollars) for the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.  The Associate will serve as the Fiscal Delegate on Provost Office accounts and serve as the deputy in the absence of the Director.  The Business Administrative Associate may be assigned additional related duties and responsibilities in support of the department’s mission and goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, management or a field related to the position
  2. Two years of professional level accounting, managerial and/or business experience, one year of which was at an administrative level
  3. Additional education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required 

Additional Skills and Knowledge Desired by Unit

  • Demonstrated ability to use PC applications in Excel/Word/Powerpoint critical
  • ORACLE experience desirable
  • Inter-personal skills critical
  • Above average ability in math concepts and computations
  • MA/MS/MBA desirable

Salary
$4,997 per month
