Job Description/Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor is a full-time, tenure track position in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior. The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in both the principal preparation and superintendent preparation programs. Responsibilities will include teaching graduate courses, research, and service to the program, the department, the school and the university. Teaching assignments include evening, weekend and satellite courses. Summer assignments are available, subject to enrollment and funding.
Minimum Qualifications
-Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, Educational Policy, Higher Education, or Curriculum and Instruction/Teaching and Teacher Education/Special Education or an equivalent field by appointment date. ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctoral degree is required by the start of the contract.
-Clearly demonstrated potential for scholarship, excellence in teaching, and engaged service to the program.
-Ability to effectively teach graduate courses leading principal and superintendent’s endorsements.
-Commitment to the preparation of individuals to work in diverse educational settings must be demonstrated.
Preferred Qualifications
-K-12 administrative experience.
-Current administrative licenses (principal and/or superintendent).
-Skill in mentoring and advising graduate students.
-Skill in supervising student research.
-Skill in supervising field based internships.

Terms of Appointment
Continuing tenure-track position for nine months. Summer appointment is contingent upon availability of funds and enrollment. Beginning date of appointment is August 16, 2018.
