For three years now, the Italian Film Festival of St. Louis and the Collinsville Library have brought special programs -- from Italy -- to Collinsville to honor the rich Italian Heritage in our local communities. During the month of September, they are organizing a special exhibit "From the Trunks of Travelers to Italy" -- a collection of items from Italy on loan from area residents. The exhibit will be in the library's west wing. Over 80 items from 15 regions of Italy that tell a story of Italy, its culture, and its people. Items are on loan from more than 30 families. A rare collection -- pieces from the mountains to the sea, the lakes regions, cities and small villages, Venice, Rome, Sicily -- even Sardinia. The event is free and open to the public now showing at the Collinsville Library downtown.
