For Nurses

Are you a nurse, health worker or caregiver in the Metro East or Greater St. Louis Area? Are you looking for nursing continuing education opportunities to expand your professional skills or renew your license?

SIUE’s Department of Educational Outreach and the SIUE School of Nursing can help! Our nursing continuing education programs are open to all nurses and health care workers in Edwardsville and surrounding communities, including St. Louis.

The School of Nursing offers the nursing continuing educational contact hours you need, whether you’re advanced practice nurse, RN, or LPN.

The School of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing education through the Illinois Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Continuing Education.

• Programs are scheduled on a rotating basis throughout the year, so please sign up for our mailing list to be notified whenever new programs in your field are scheduled.
• Contact the SIUE School of Nursing for more information about nursing degree programs, license renewals, upcoming continuing nursing education programs or if your organization has a specific continuing education need.

We also offer distance learning opportunities to earn credits toward nursing degrees.

• The School of Nursing offers an online bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing  for registered nurses with associate degrees or diplomas in nursing. The coursework is 85 percent online (some visits to the Edwardsville campus are required). The state-approved program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and provides a foundation for graduate education. 
• Graduate courses in nursing are available in both Springfield, Illinois, and on our Edwardsville campus. Programs available in Springfield prepare nurses for advanced nursing practice, including Health Care and Nursing Administration, Nurse Educator, and Family Nurse Practitioner specialties.

Keep in mind — SIUE alumni and former students are encouraged to continue their professional development at SIUE, and area nurses who have never attended SIUE in the past are also invited to participate in all professional development programs!
